How Can You Identify The Perfect Original Diamond Wedding Ring?

Diamond RingIn the modern world, wedding carries a huge significance. It is viewed by most as a symbol of love, trust, dedication, faith, loyalty, and above all commitment to a relationship or marriage in this case. Different people have different preferences when it comes to choosing wedding rings. These preferences range from the material a ring is made of to the design to the size among others over the last few years, the numbers of people preferring and purchasing Diamond Wedding Rings have risen.

The reasons for this are quite varied depending on different individuals. When it comes to choosing a beautiful original diamond wedding ring, several things may go wrong starting with the fact that one gets a ring that has a lesser quality or is a fake. So how can one ensure that they get a beautiful quality ring that is not a fake?

The major way of determining if you get a quality wedding ring is by studying the four characteristics that define a diamond's quality. These characteristics, otherwise known as the GIA’s diamond grading system, are the measures that are also used by professional crafters of jewelry or diamonds to grade diamonds. They are commonly known by most people as the four C’s and these refer to carat, color, clarity and cut. It is very important that one understands these C’s if one is to get a quality diamond ring.

Carat is the highest measure of the quality of a diamond. It simply refers to the weight of a diamond stone. One carat is approximately equal to 200 milligrams. Higher karats mean higher quality and consequently translate into higher prices.

The color refers to how close to white a diamond is. Colorless diamonds demand the highest quality because they reflect light better than other diamonds. Diamonds however have varying shades of color ranging from green, yellow, orange, pink, red, or even black. The colorless diamonds are the best though.

Clarity quantifies the blemishes that a diamond has. The blemishes could be inside or outside the diamond. Depending on the amount of blemishes, a diamond ring can fall in any of the following grades: flawless (F), internally flawless (IF), and very slightly included (VVS 1) among other grades. Of cause, the Diamond Rings that have the best quality are those whose diamond stone is flawless.

Cuts are the sometimes considered the most important determinants of a diamond rings quality. This is because it is the cut that determines how well the diamond ring will look when it’s finally ready to be won. The cuts determine how brilliant a diamond wedding ring is and how much it sparkles. For instance, the diamond rings with a round brilliant cut are considered by experts as having the best sparkle. When buying a diamond ring for a wedding or for any other occasion, ensure you choose one whose cut is rated on the scale as excellent or very good. Any other grade will be a waste of the money.

Other things you may need to know when purchasing a diamond for wedding purposes is how the quality of the diamond stone will affect the quality of the ring. Sometimes, if you’re not sure about the four C’s, it is a good idea to ask for the grading charts before you make a final decision.
